Note: because the two Areas have different numbers of teams, the points awarded for match wins and game wins have been adjusted accordingly. There are 3 points per match win and 3 points per game win in the North & Central Area, but only 2 points per match win and 2 points per game win in the East & West Area. This ensures that at the end of the season both the average and the maximum points available to each team are the same, so that comparison of results and application of the tie-breaking rules between the Areas is possible on an equal basis.

Venues may be changed by mutual agreement. Results to be reported by email or phone to Chris Howell as soon as possible after each match.

All matches to be completed
by 30 September.

The Home team should arrange the match.

The matches shaded yellow are played at home for the team in the left-hand column.
So to read the table easily, (1) find the club in the left-hand column (in bold),
(2) read across to find its scores against each opponent as the first figure given;
(3) read across to find its Home games in yellow and its Away games in white.

If the number of points is tied then the winner is determined by the who-beat-whom rule,
then by the number of game points.

GOLF CROQUET LEVEL PLAY LEAGUE RULES – 2012

  1. There will be 4 players in a team.
  2. All will play level.
  3. No substitutes after a match has started.
  4. No player may represent more than one club in a season.
  5. 13 point games will be played, with a 45 minute time limit.
  6. Teams will play 16 singles games (4 per player) and 2 doubles. (There is flexibility here, by arrangement, if time/distance travelled is an issue on the day of the match. )
  7. A team will be awarded 3 points (North & Central Area) or 2 points (East & West Area) for a match win, half that for a draw. (The difference between the Areas is designed to enable fair comparison, and is necessary since the Areas have different numbers of participants.) The club collecting the most points in a season will be declared the competition winners.
  8. Cards must be filled in using the appropriate table.
  9. If a team cancels unilaterally less than 3 clear days before a match, that team forfeits all points.
  10. The League Manager should be informed of results by the host club.
  11. In the event of a dispute the League Manager's decision shall be final.
