A detailed pack of Advantage information is available from the CA website at https://www.croquet.org.uk/?p=games/golf/advantage

Terrey Sparks, Chairman of Hunstanton Croquet Club, Secretary of the Federation and a regular contributor to this web-site, was involved in a serious Road Traffic Accident on Thursday 10th September. He was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and spent some days in the High Dependency Unit. His injuries, though never life-threatening, were extremely severe including a cracked vertebra in his neck, cracked ribs and a punctured lung, cracked pelvis, damage to his left hip and major bruising to his face. Fortunately as time has passed it seems that at least some of his injuries were not as serious as was at first feared. He has just been advised that nature can now be allowed to repair the damage and he can become mobile! Recovery time was estimated at 12 weeks from the date of admission and he now hopes to be out of hospital within 2 weeks of starting physio, which is any day now. He is currently in the Gateley Ward of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Colney Lane, Norwich, NR4 7UY.
Terrey has now been moved to Dereham Hospital, Foxley Ward. It seems his estimate of going home this week-end was over-optimistic and it will be some time before he is sufficiently mobile to cope on his own. Address is Dereham Hospital, Northgate, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 2EX.
Please note that the date for this 2009 Tournament has now been changed to Sunday 6th September, and the venue has been moved from Ickworth to Downham Market.
Postscript: this event was later cancelled.
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the E.A.C.F. will be held on Saturday 21st March 2009 at the Hyndman Centre, Hospital Road, Bury St. Edmunds commencing at 2.00pm. See here for details of the Agenda.

The Soham Indoor Doubles Golf Croquet tournament will take place at the Ross Peers Sports Centre - Soham on the 15th/16th November 2008. We should be able to accommodate 7 doubles pairs each day. Entry fee will be £12 per player (£24 per doubles team). Cheques made payable to the Ross Peers Sports Centre to be sent to me with names of competitors & preferred date to play. Please write your address on reverse of cheque. Further details will be sent on receipt of entry.
The Short Croquet (14-point Association) tournament at Ickworth House, near Bury St Edmunds, will take place on Sunday 7 September. Please contact Jonathan Toye if you wish to enter a team of two, email: Jonathan Toye or tel: 01366 382280.
As you will no doubt be aware Jean Horton (Bottisham) and her band of followers who have usually arranged the above tournament at Ickworth House had to stand down after organising it for many years. Despite attempts to find a willing pair of hands no successor has been forthcoming to run this year's event which is scheduled for the 5th July.
Ideally, a group of say 3/4 are required. The task involved will be to co-ordinate and organise the event and manage it on the day. You will also be required to set the lawns up at the house grounds on the Friday afternoon and clear up on the Saturday evening after the event has finished. Ideally, a group from one club is desirable, but not necessary.
The position is now becoming desperate and if volunteers are not shortly forthcoming then it looks likely that this popular event will be cancelled. Please canvass your club to see if anyone is keen to take this on, and if so contact me ASAP.
Terrey Sparks
EACF Secretary
Postscript 4/6/08: this event has now been cancelled.
